To save some cash and hope for greener grass, I decided to move to TalkTalk Business as they're month to month price is about £10 less and they're doing 3 months free.
The move happened yesterday and I'm already seeing a much improved service, hitting 900 or near enough on all the main speed tests and the ping to London has gone from circa 20/22 to 9, and everything does feel noticeably nipper (I use CloudFlare's 1.1.1.1 DNS on my router); while you did get decent speed tests with the right testing website, often initial connections felt slow on IDNet.
I just called IDNet and was surprised to be told that they don't refund part-months, having paid up till the 12th of October. I thought providing refunds for unused days was normal practice when switching ISPs?
The T&Cs on their website says:
Am I reading it wrong? Surly the notice is the standard Openreach transfer notice that they receive, otherwise you would likely have your internet down if you were to specify 30 days notice in writing. In reference to www.idnet.com/terms-and-conditions.php:16.1 Termination on notice
Either IDNet or the Customer may terminate the Agreement at any time by service of notice in writing upon the other party, such notice to take effect at the end of the current payment period. Upon termination of the Agreement under this Clause, we shall refund to you an appropriate portion of any periodic fees paid by you for the use of the Service
