Me too, I'm always included in the affected list smile

Wondering if this might be Zen related again, as IDNet have posted an update saying it is a power issue at a data centre. Zen also have posted their Managed hosting is down due to power issues which started at 8am. Of course it might just be the kit is in the same data centre.

Update, definitely Zen again, they have posted an outage at one of their core sites. Glad to be leaving IDNet and Zen very soon as my contract is up.

Zen and idnet have very little down time, might be a mistake to leave.

First time had down time with any provider, now several since the summer. Always the power issue.

Only bonus today was not having to reboot and manually reenter login credentials.

Just came back on!

This isn't the first ISP I've had provide Internet so I am able to compare and contrast, and I can tell you IDNet/Zen have been the worst for reliability.

Seems like since the issues yesterday things are not restored completely, as in the evening the speeds and latency was all over the place.

I never even noticed even though I start work at 8:30 but my TBBQM shows two spikes one around 8am, another just before 9.

he is right

last ngiht my latency went through the roof

on a 550/75 connection who doesn't download this is all very concerning

3 outages this yr i believe with a few performance issues

Paying over 50 quid a month i expect a better level of service

Indeed about the 3rd one this year. Seems to always be the power issue. I also find in general single threaded performance isn't the best on IDNet anymore, had issues on and off with it for a while. I suspect also Zen related. I did have a ticket open a while back and asked to come off the Zen backhaul but was told they don't use Zen for FTTP. Never really pressed the matter with them.

Lets just say I'm on FTTP and definitely with Zen backhaul and told I can't change from that. Maybe they should have written they *only can use* Zen for FTTP?

I wonder if some issues with all services, not just idnet could be attributed to the situation the country is in at moment with support staff still working from home and the atrocious weather we have had recently, but then again folk do like to moan when something happens that affects them!
I was with idnet for a few years and can honestly say they were and are the best Isp I have used, only moved because the combination of my broadband and sky package became very expensive due to a huge increase from sky and moved to one of the virgin packages
I had a problem with single thread speed initially at idnet but that was soon sorted by them changing the backhaul I was on,I found that any issue was dealt with very quickly and if it was within their power, ie not caused by something they had no control over(like say the weather!) to fix they did very quickly.
If I found these outages as annoying as some seem to I would be off to another supplier, especially as I think idnet contracts are now on a rolling one month basis,I doubt whether BT would use the Zen backhaul so that's an option isn't it?

On Openreach FTTP I’ve yet to find, on the whole, “better” backhaul than BTW. As troubling as some may possibly find that concept. 🤣

Zen would swap backhaul for their own customers but that seems to have stopped, and when Zen stopped allowing people to leave their own backhaul network, it appears IDNet followed suit and so I assume everything IDNet do for broadband is via Zen Wholesale, so now they can't swap people either. Certainly in my case I can't change backhaul suppliers. Also notice once upon a time IDNet would jump into this forum and say things like 'We want our customers completely satisfied, give us a ring and we can change backhaul'. Now they seem silent on the subject.
