By reading past posts you can see what the assessment centre is about. The 40min maths & english was the hardest part. But it's just to see what level you are at. Providing you have a decent grasp of both subjects you should be fine. Remember BT are massive on safety so talk about that in your interviews. It helps if you have worked in a safety critical environment.
I always worry about stuff like that. I have done similar English and Maths test for other jobs and passed ok but it won't stop me worrying if I get to an assessment center.
My current job has a lot of health and safety involved in it so I just hope I can remember to say it all at the interview parts.

Don't worry about the maths and English..... I didn't even finish the maths assessment and still got the job!

Like I said it's just to see what level of Maths and English you are at. The managers told me that recruitment is slowing down over the next few months as well. I've got a week off before I start training and I was advised to book a few days off because training is quite intense. I failed the assessment centre 18 months ago so tried again and was successful even though it had new parts added this time I.E Vid interview & Maths/English test. I have friends working for BT and they love it.
I have a feeling I might not make it this year if it's slowing down. I have a friend that does the job and he enjoys it. It seems like a good company to work for. I will try not to get my hopes up too much.
i have been offered the same role. a friend of mine done it many years ago and said it was one of the best jobs he had, he went abroad that was the only reason he left.
I start on the 17th of july, wont be getting a van until end of week 4 so they are sorting a hire car for me to drive down in for the first week.
Good luck for your start pal. I will see you around up there a week later. Just filling out the disclosure. Can't understand why I'm doing disclosure Scotland if I'm Welsh? Oh well. Will do it and looking forward to starting now.
