Mobile Me Backup

[link to this post]

How "secure" is it to backup confidential documents to my Mobile Me account? Is there any way to make it more secure or is this an altogether needless worry? Any advice about using online storage would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks

Needless worry. I have used MobileMe and its predecessor and never had a problem. You can up your settings as high as possible. On documents of a sensitive nature, I generally keep on an USB key and have a copy on an external HD. I do not leave but a few documents on my computer's HD. Other than that, I really do not know what to say.

Anything that's stored online is gonna be more risky. Even if the sites are secure there's access to the data by admin staff.

That's not strictly true in most cases...

I manage two different offsite data backup platforms, both are fully encypted at the client end so all data stored on the servers is *totally* useless!
