My starter webcam - which should I buy?

[link to this post]

I want to try video conferencing but I don't know how extensively I'll use it so I'm wondering if about £30 would get me a reasonable webcam to use on Skype etc? I'm using an eight year old desktop G4 with OSX running at 300 MHz that still does most things well and I usually get at least 5.5 Mbps.
TIA for some basic purchasing advice!

For Skype you need 800Mhz G4 or better http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/macosx/

If your G4 is a tower, and you really want to keep it going rather than trading up to a newer Mac, you might want to look at Other World Computing's range of processor upgrades. My previous Mac was a 300 MHz G4 tower (the "Sawtooth" model) bought in 1999. I extended its useful life by upgrading it to 1 GHz around 2004. With more memory and a better graphics card, it's still a serviceable machine running Tiger.
