Selling A Mac?

I have a 17 inch G4 Powerbook that is immaculate. Not a mark or blemish on it. In fact it has only been out for a walk a few times. It is time to upgrade. I would welcome any advice as the best way to sell this and what sort of guide price I should be asking. I know ebay is an option but, not sure if I'll get a decent return.

You'll only get what people are prepared to pay.

Intel Macs are what people want these days.

I will be looking to sell my 15" G4 Powerbook shortly and will be using Ebay. There would still appear to be buyers looking for good quality G4's on Ebay and from what I can see the prices being obtained are in line with those quoted on the mac2sell web site.

I've sold a number of my older G4 and G5 Macs on eBay, and got quite a good price for them. Apple products seem to be in demand whether they are new or used. Saying that, I do agree that people are now more looking towards the Intel based Macs, especially with Snow Leopard rumoured to be Intel-only.

My disused B&W G3 450 was valued at 20 quid.

If you can't get above a couple of hundred quid for it, I'd seriously recommend keeping it although I've noticed a few Buy It Now prices on ebay for about £450, which is pretty good!

I spent ages trying to sell my first iMac, and the current one on eBay has got only one watcher - usually its around 8-10. This will be the second time around...

Sold my old PowerBook G4 on eBay for £400 a few months back, you could probably get around the £450 mark for a 17" PowerBook.

Be aware of selling it on eBay - they take £40 and PayPal takes £18
