Today I bought 2 G3 (white) iBooks off ebay...

...'spares or repair'.

All that was needed was a fresh, clean installation of OS X and they're both good to go! They even came with airport cards in each!

Ok they're not the fastest laptops in the world but for £51, I aint complaining!

Got to be comparable to a low end netbook. If old Mac OSX doesn't cut it then there's a PPC Linux out there somewhere.

Yes that's kind of how I see them and the form factor is great and even for the age, these ibooks look great IHO. They do need more RAM though.

Excellent little things, well done at that price with the cards. I have one dedicated as an email machine at home. Another is in overseas flat for use when there, dont have to lug a lappy about. Bought a load from a school, sold the rest on fleabay and maxed out the ram, installed combo drives in the last two. Have enough spares to keep them going too.

Even got firewire LOL! Keep classic macs alive!

They're not bad machines at all and I was totally surprised to find that they had airport cards, especially as they only had the standard 128mb RAM. At the moment I'm struggling to install Tiger on them though.
