MS Money on MacosX

[link to this post]

Hi

I have been using MS Money since 1997 and have my data file currently being used by MS Money running in winxp (parallels installation)

Now.. I hate infecting my Mac with windows . is there any software for mac OsX that would manage my money as easily as MS Money, I dont need stock and shares info and all that stuff. just basic bank statement entry with reports for dates / payees etc.. future balances etc...

Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm afraid I use Parallels and an old Windows prog called Personal Accounts for a couple of Treasurer accounts I run. These are really small business systems.

The publishers of Personal Accounts have produced a cross-platform version called Personal Accountz - note the 'Z', but I tried their Mac installation and didn't like it because it uses a cross platform Java framework (Qt?) that just didn't feel right to me. I'm probably over-sensitive, having been a Mac-head for way too long, so if you can live with the slight irritations I found in the UI, it may work for you.

I've had a very brief look at Cha-Ching, as it came in a MacHeist bundle. That is a fully native Mac product, and looks very nice for personal accounts. I haven't explored it fully, though, as I need to be able to pass my accounts to auditors and/or to a successor Treasurer, and they are far more likely to use Windows than OS X.

MS Money is a dead product even on Windows. So you're doing the right thing to look elsewhere.
