Previously posted in the Sky Broadband section thinking it was my supplier that was not giving me anywhere near the advertised 10meg. I've done lots of speed tests on my Macbook running Snow Leopard and max I'm getting is around 5meg. Doing tests on my Ubuntu 9.10 and Leopard machine I get more like 8.5meg. These tests are conduced on www.speedtest.net and I done literally loads of them.
I hooked my Macbook up via Ethernet and got the full 8.5meg but put it back to wireless and got the usual 5meg or so. Have deleted the network settings on System Preference and changed location etc. Deleted some .plist files etc.
What is there left to do, full re-install of Snow Leopard?
Cheers,
Kieran.
