Too hard to let go

G3 Pismo Laptop, bought when top of range, a month before Titanium G4s were introduced has a dead yo-yo transformer (45W).

Rather than consign it to re-cycling bin I've been looking at replacement Power supply.

The ones that say it's suitabe for Pismo are almost 2x the price of tHE 45W ones that say they're suitable for G3 iBooks

Can I use the cheaper ones (also have >> availability!

The connectors are different. You will be able to pick up a Pismo or slightly earlier Powerbook psu on ebay. Search for pismo.
