The nicked iPhone

[link to this post]

If you haven't already wandered over to either Appleinsider or MacRumors and read up on the affidavit that just been unsealed. Hugely entertaining stuff.

Gizmodo are so screwed (and most of he people trying to defend Giz seem to have run for cover).

But the guy who light-fingered it must be the dumbest twit around. All he needed to do was call directory inquires and ask for Apple Inc, 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino CA and ask to speak to security.

Pretty sure he would have been rewarded with his choice of kit.

I been following this too.

How naive were Gismodo with that letter to Steve in reply to his request that they return the iPhone?!

Also Hogan comes of very badly, saying in response to Powell possibly losing his job for losing it, "Sucks for him. He lost his phone. Shouldn't have lost his phone." Nice.

Pretty sure he would have been rewarded with his choice of kit.

I think someone who might be getting Apple kit for life is Hogan's room-mate Martinson!

He did ring Apple and they didn't believe him.

Like any big company you aren't going to be able to ring up and talk to someone fairly high up at the company, someone who is in the know.

Try reading the documents.

He didn't. That was a lie.

His room mate phoned Apple (and got through to security with no difficulty, who then called in the cops who in turn came round to collect it and eventually tracked him down at his parents, where he coughed to destroying evidence) when she realised he had hooked it up to her computer and that she needed to clear herself - after she had tried to persuade him not to sell it.

It's not even that difficult - their HQ phone number is on http://www.apple.com/contact/ (listed under "Corporate Address").
