iPad USB cable

Does anyone know a good and reliable place to get a longer cable than the one supplied?

Why the heck do Apple always supply such short cables?!? Damn cheapskates, it's not as if there isn't enough room in the box. Pretty disgusting considering the price of the damn things.

Besides that one gripe (actually there is another, adding HD to an app title and charging for it again!), it really is a great bit of kit!

You can just get a standard female to male USB extension cable and use that. Much cheaper than buying an iPod dock to USB cable.

I buy all my cables / leads etc through Amazon.co.uk - Can be bought VERY cheap.1p up plus del.

I had a look in PC World as was just browsing this morning and they look smart but by god they ain`t half expensive, and extra £100 for 3g, so 16g one comes in at £529 with everything. Feck you can get a decent laptop for that, all in all an expensive gadgets for the must haves.

Not all USB cables ar the same it would seem. I plugged in a non-Apple cable into the charger and started charging my iPad. After several hours I checked the iPad and it had only got to 50%. I then switched the cable for the one that came with the iPad and it has now got to 88% in a couple of hours.

Probably a USB 1.1 cable (ie quite old)?

Apple are trying to charge £25 for a 1.8m cable, so no surprise that they supply as short a cable as possible as standard. No wonder they have surpassed MS as the most valuable tech company.
