O2 Recycle

[link to this post]

Has anyone used this and does it work?

I have been offered £185 for my iPhone 3G 16gb. Does this sound realistic?

The phone is in good nick, fully working etc.

£183 on Mazuma, so it sounds like a fair price (or £201 in Argos vouchers if that's any use to you).

Yeah had a check of the others and that price seems to be fairly standard.

So either I go for an HTC at around £400 of an iPhone 4 for about £15.

Also, posted this in the wrong forum but I guess it is ok since it does relate to Apple laugh

My handset, according to Mazuma, is worth £1. What different worlds we inhabit!

This is the easy way to do it.

Or you can stick it on ebay which should get you around £250 if in good condition and unlocked.

Can't stand those blinking mazuma adverts - I took a wee look through google and found http://www.sellmymobile.com/phone/apple-iphone-3g-16gb/ - 196.79 pounds?

HTH.

Just to be sure

I checked with O2 what the early upgrade offer would be for me.

I have ten months left on my original contract.

They say it will cost me £200 to buy myself out of my current contract, then a further £209 for the iPhone 4 32GB.

SO essentially for the next ten months I would be paying my current contract at £200 (albeit a discounted rate), and, all in one, then starting a new contract at £35 per month for the next two years.

So almost two contracts for ten months?

I think my concern is sending my phone to these independent companies, whereas with O2, at least I already have a relationship with them.

Although, what I consider mint condition may be different to what O2 or someone else consider mint condition.

I feel the same. O2 are a better company too, and I would prefer to deal with them over some mail-to places.

Prefer face-to-face transactions tbh. You can sometimes get more of a bargain added. smile

May try CPW, they did a part exchange on my previous phone and gave me over the odds compared to other places, and, they checked it there and then and we mutually agreed the condition.

You're tempting - I'm about to post my 3GS 32gig and after taking it out it's 'Invisi-Shield Case', it is FLAWLESS!!
I don't want to sell it now. crazy

May wait until the next iPhone 4 comes out, there isn't a desperate rush for it yet. That could change when I actually see one for sale in the shops of course lol.

The iPhone looks great with being out the protective case, it's really done very well. The iOS4 wallpaper looks good on it too. Aye, and that magnify looks fantastic on the MBP dock - Discovered that yesterday myself. wink

I use an iPod sock for my iPhone - I can't bear to see any of those fugly cases wrapped around it. The iPad is a different dilemma, i wish it had a pop out mini stand at the back to slant it for typing. I bought the Apple case which is probably the most fugly thing Apple has made in recent years; I hate it but it is a necessity for practical reasons.

I also use a 'sock' for my iPhone. It has a microfibre lining which cleans the screen nicely. The Apple case for the iPad is expensive but looks and feels cheap and nasty. I got a leather case from Amazon which looks and feels far superior.

Hi Bosie,
I saw this the other day when looking at Scan's today only deals:

http://www.scan.co.uk/product.aspx?ProductId=36749

Might suit you (or rather your iPad)!

I prefer to use Envirofone.

3g 16GB = £184

coupon code: worldcup1 (valid until England go out of the World cup, so must use by Sunday!)

Takes sale value to: £193.20

O2 recycle gives you 7 days to get your old phone to them; Envirofone gives 30 days.
