New iphone3 with broken Sim tray & fuly charged Battery

My wife picked up her iPhone this morning after a bit of a polaver in getting it. Car Phone Warehouse said on Thursday they couldn't get one, yet late Friday they had!

She d asks me how to insert the sim - I send her instructions off google. she tells me 10 mins later the sim tray looks damaged.

When I get home I have a look at the tray, yes it is broken and oddly there is no broken part. I also notice some indentations around the top of the sim card on the case. Oh and the battery is fully charged.

I asked her was it sealed and she said it was, the headphones are still sealed, but the plug & the USB connector are not. There are 2 instrcution booklets - one called Fingers and a multinational booklet.

Now because of the damage to the phone, that the phone is already charged I am of the opinion that the phone is a demo or ex display. Am I right?

if someone could tell me what there should be in the box, I would be greatful, or the opinion on the tate of the phone

I'd take it back Steve and demand a new one.

Notwithstanding the answer above, I don't think there's anything sinister with a fully charged battery- I have often found that Digital Cameras and my iPhone4 had an almost full battery.

I assume they give you the advice that it needs several hours charging is that they can never tell how long they'll sit on the shelf after being shipped from the factory.

Just waiting for my iPhone 4 to get shipped. It isn't due here for three weeks or so, but at least i'll get a free case now!

I'll eventually sell the unlocked 3Gs once the 4G is here. It's in it's original box, like new, and with case etc.

Hurry up Apple.

The box should have been wrapped in a clear plastic seal. If it isn't then it's a recon or a returned item perhaps.

Well the phone went back this moring. No ifs or buts...
