Well done! Yes, mine is logging real stuff to the system log - I get notifications of https traffic from dubious sources. And they are tagged with the router address there, so I can put that address in the filter to see just those messages. The All Messages list includes them as well, but they are formatted differently.

Yeah, I was hoping to make a new database search just for router messages, but the "sender" in All Messages seems to be whichever daemon sent the message, I can't find anything generic for the router... and the search doesn't seem to look in the system log frown

Never mind, I can type "192.168.1.1" into a filter with my eyes shut smile

New database search with Host equal to the IP address works.

Just realised you can add Host to the fields displayed by right clicking the header row.

So it does... excellent, thank you smile

That might be useful too...

Wonder why you have the Server version!
I checked on the MacBook (which got to SL via an upgrade from Leopard) and it has the same file as you and in the link, in text format rather than binary.

So it would seem that the OEM version of SL (which is what the iMac started with) possesses at least some items in common with the server version, even if only at low level. Or maybe it varies depending whether it's an upgrade or clean install.

Interesting, albeit of no particular use smile
