MS Office Update and iMac

Microsoft released a security update for various versions of Office today. The update installed successfully on my MacBook Pro but has failed repeatedly on my iMac. It downloads fine, but when looking for Office programmes to update it just hangs and I must force quit. I have tried downloading several times, repaired disc permissions and restarted the iMac more than once. Any help gratefully received. Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a work around?

Yeah it does. In my experience Microsoft software isn't the best quality on their own OS. So Mac OSX will be a second class citizen.

Just like Safari and iTunes on Windows is inferior.

I've installed both without issue - the Office 2004 update on a PPC Mac mini (running fully patched Leopard) and the Office 2011 update on my MBP (mid-2007, fully patched Snow Leopard).

Have you tried reinstalled Office from scratch? I bit tiresome I know...

After many attempts, over several days, it just randomly updated. Go figure.

I kind of detested putting razorlight into my perfect laptop - I just felt that tainted the purity of the Mac by requiring it..

Open Office first if you need it, ms on a PC if you needed it.

I have my PC still - I use it happily, but...

MacBook Pro wants a brudda...mmmmmm.
