iPlayer radio has stopped working on iPad

This is driving me mad. After many weeks of successfully playing streaming radio from the BBC's iPlayer on my iPad, it has ceased working for no apparent reason. I thought it was either a temporary glitch at the BBC end, or something easily fixed by clearing the cache or something.

So far, no to both. Attempts to play any radio programme result in a "programme unavaible" message, although TV works as well as it ever did - which wasn't great, but it works - sort of! It's only the radio that's completely kaput.

Google doesn't turn up any recent relevant hits, so probably reasonable to assume there's not a general outage, and the problem is specific to me. Otherwise other users would be talking about it.

But I haven't done any recent software updates, or indeed changed anything, that I'm aware of. It still fails whether I navigate directly to the iPlayer via Safari, or use the BBC's pointless little app, that just puts a front end on it.

I can get it working on my Nokia N8 phone, so specifically an iPad issue it seems.

Any ideas?

One thing that is always worth trying when things go wrong on an iPad is to try closing all open programs.

Forgive me for implying that you don't know who to do this but, just in case you don't - double click on the home button and you will get a list of the running applications at the bottom of the screen. Hold your finger on one of them until they start wobbling and the "-" signs in circles appear. Then click the minus sign on each one to close it. Might as well close them all.

If that doesn't work it's probably time for a reset. I can confirm that the iPlayer app should still be working.

It's not just me then! Same thing, Thursday morning iplayer fine on ipad since then, zilch.
Only affects the radio oddly, not the TV watch again service.
Debug message is JavaScript error in line 143
Also syntax error parse error.
I have no idea what this means, contacted BBC help desk but just sent standard emails directing me to various forums.
Also using the browser on my PS3 to watch iplayer the same problem occurs.
It is driving me potty as I have found Radio 4 extra isn't all Radio 7 was.

Both TV and radio are fine on mine. You are using the IPlayer app rather than going via the normal web page?

Same problem using both the app and going through Safari.

Strange. As I say, it's working fine for me. Perhaps it's just some programmes.

Tried that route to complain and just got a standard email directing me to Digitalspy and other forums.

It is all Radio stations and all programmes but again the telly part works fine.

Have you tried the closing all apps and/or doing a reset? I'm definitely not suffering from this problem.

Perhaps it is pointless trying to fix it at this end after all, since I'm not the only one it's happening to.

I'm not sure exactly when it happened, but it's been a good few days now. It's really frustrating.

And that they've closed the dedicated forum, that used to be quite helpful.

I couldn't find any mention of this latest problem on Digital Spy et al.
