Overpriced tat. 2.5k for a computer that has the specs of a £1k PC? I have never been able to understand the mentality of apple fans and I guess I never will.

Still, there is one born every minute they say.

You don't only get a machine you get OS X and it's associated advantages.

I won't start an argument about the pros and cons of OS X, but £1.5k is quite a premium to pay for an operating system. I'd like to think that a Mac offers more than just that for the extra cost.

Is this using the famous AEP calculator where other makers can ship MacBook Air equivalents for half the price?

Where is this calculator? Sounds like a good idea.

I've made no calculations in this thread, Ian. I'm just replying to a post that says it is worth paying £1,500 extra to get OS X. I didn't produce those figures. But I do find it an extraordinary assertion.

I'd sell you one but, unfortunately, Apple have slapped an injunction on me forbidding to sell such goods in the EU. wink

There's an injunction concerning MacBook Airs?

C'mon - Acer and Lenovo have just launched "ultrabooks". They must be cheaper than MBAs surely?

Overpriced is subjective. A Linux or Windows PC doesn't interest me at all - cheap tat.
