We have a problem viewing PDFs on Apple devices (iMac, iPad, MacBook).
Can you please have a look at my post: http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/windows/t/4043653-m... and add any replies there.
Thanks.

Microsoft article on the topic. As a possible work-around, OpenOffice allows you to open Word documents and export them to PDF.

What a mess! Lots of possible solutions but head in the sand from MS!
Is there a guarantee that the Open Office route would export readable PDFs?

Software? Guarantees? Are you mad?
Unfortunately, I can't test it for you. A cross-post in FC might help.

You could always try Cute PDF Writer - that seems to work on most devices for me

Installing additional apps is not easy - their environment is tightly controlled.

Installing additional apps is not easy - their environment is tightly controlled. At which end is the difficulty? If at your end, ask the client to use Adobe Reader rather than the Apple reader (if this is the problem.) If at their end, try using OpenOffice to create the PDF file.

Installing additional apps is not easy - their environment is tightly controlled. Tightly contested is for a MS version.
I agree, but did use OO exclusively (On my other MBP). No probs either way. Much.

By controlled I mean what can be installed - on any device: Macs, PCs and even smart phones.

Both ! Especially this end - but there will be numerous recipients and we cannot dictate to them all.

This can't be too difficult a nut to crack. Some suggestions:
- Use an online conversion service if this is possible - some services are free.
- Throw the problem at your IT department (if you have one) and impress upon them the commercial implications.
- If all else fails, set up a secure stand-alone system with Adobe Acrobat for doing the conversions. If this is not financially justifiable, then you do not have a genuine problem.
