IOS 5 seems to be available for download. Currently updating my iPod Touch. Estimated time 18 minutes. It's going nowhere near my iPad 2 until I've run the Touch for several days!

She's safe for now!!!

It took a while but the iPhone is alive and just a few changes...

The iPod logo is now 'Music'

Few new Apps appeared... Newstand, Reminders, iCloud in Settings...

Updated Apps...
Camera from lock screen is good, options e.g. Grid lines nice, editing simple, red eye reduction, crop and auto enhance...

Calendar hasn't solved the issue syncing with Exchange that appeared a week or so ago...

I assume Siri only available on iPhone4s.

Else it's pretty much the phone I had yesterday...

I think trying this update while the servers are getting caned is a bit futile. Let the septics get out of the way.

The iPod logo is now 'Music'

I gather that Music and Video have been separated, hence iPod becoming "Music" plus a new Video app. Interesting downplaying of one of the most iconic brands of the past 10 years tho'...

iOS 5 has resolved a small matter...

When I plugged my iPhone4 into the USB port in my Volvo ( an 09 reg XC70) it used to pop up with a dialog that said the accessory wasn't optimised to be used with the phone...

This morning with iOS5, no dialog appeared. Yay!

I haven't experienced the new Alert Centre as none have happened!

Seems to be fine today. Took a little over an hour to do an iPad, with no problems. smile

Only slight peculiarity is that it has rearranged some of the icon pages - but that might be my fault for starting to use it whilst it was restoring Apps. Now to see what's changed.

Couple of observations:

The screen doesn't come on while syncing now

Wireless sync works a treat

Like the reminder app

New notification system finally fit for purpose

Snappeh

The App Store app seems a shade flaky

They really need to work out a way to merge MobileMe and iCloud.

Agreed. I might even start using Safari in preference to Firefox.

Biggest problem at the moment is that Mail/iCloud is seriously deranged and overloaded.

I guess that iCloud is going to be a problem whilst everyone is setting it up/playing with it at the same time. It'll settle down in a few days.

I read somewhere that at one point yesterday Apple accounted for 5% of internet traffic.
