Is there any point purchasing a modem/router with Wireless AC for my home network connecting my iMac, Macbook and iPhone? I understand that my macs just connect with Wireless N.
No current Apple products use Wireless AC, so there is no real point in purchasing a new router. I guess if you were buying one anyway then you might consider AC for futerproofing, but I'm not sure it would be worth it.
That's actually pretty helpful - I have a Cisco WAP4401N that iOS6 does not like the AES on (will work until there is a big download and then lose the internet) - but WPA with TKIP is fine.
Both a iPhone 4 and a spanking new 4th Gen iPad (which is a thing of beauty and getting much more use than I expected).
All this helps a lot, thanks. It also leads me to another question - my Netgear DG834 is rapidly failing, I would appreciate any recommendations about what to replace it with. Currently on adsl, but looking at upgrading to adsl2+ or possibly fibre.
