Plusnet

Hi Folks,

I am trying to help my father to choose a suitable ISP.

He is currently on a BT phone line with O2 on a legacy product but wants to change as they are being bought by Sky and he is looking for a cheaper phone/broadband package. Plusnet seems to be cheaper (with inclusive international calls) but I have read some recent bad reports of their line speeds and that their supplied modem/router is not very good for wireless. He is a Mac user but I am usually his first port of call if there is a problem.

If Plusnet is good then great, if not any suggestions?

You'd probably get more responses in the Which ISP? forum, but no matter.

If your father is just an ordinary user (no disparagement intended!) with no special or fancy requirements then Plusnet should suit him fine.

For a budget ISP they're pretty good, and he could certainly do a lot worse!

I'm not a mod now so I can't definitely say "Go ahead", but it shouldn't be a problem.

If you do, I'd suggest you edit your OP in this thread (with a link to the new post) requesting that people reply there.

I use a Mac on a daily basis on a Plusnet Fibre connection and have no problems using it.
