Apple -ish question.

So treated myself to an I-pod classic, so I can have ALL my music wherever. All works a treat.

However, my car has a USB dock, and a media player, works fine with an old pen drive with some non I-tunes songs on it, it also will play I-tunes off of my sons aged I-pod nano, but my new classic, no.

The device knows it is connected, and shows as such, but the car plays to see the device. Is this an issue with the type of file ? If it is, why does it work with my sons I-pod ?

Any advice happily received.

Did you first set up your iPod with a Mac by any chance? (and your sons was originally set up with a Windows PC)

Might account why the car player fails to 'see' it as it is looking for FAT32 or NTFS format.
