iPad and TV Connections

Does anyone know if I can take a UK iPad and connect it to a NTSC TV and if so what cables will I need?

If the tv has an hdmi connection you could borrow or buy an Apple TV and use airplay, I don't think I've heard of any direct connection solutions.

You can also mirror the iPad's entire display over AirPlay.
