Just downloaded it and and installed on a spare HD and running now.
Seems to be running nice.
If you've signed up for it goto to:
https://appleseed.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/
Seems to be suffering the usual Apple problems of server overload atm.

Oh, sorry - didn't spot this:
Been playing for a couple of days - seems quite solid (although I can't enable iCloud Drive 'cos I still use the old system).
Visually a very nice refresh and so far everything I use seems to play nicely. Some finder actions maybe a bit slow.

I installed this last night.
First thing I seem to have problems with is that iTunes does not load.
Not really used much else yet but will post once I have.

Have you downloaded iTunes 12?
I suspect Yosemite requires it.
|
|
Yeah, it popped up in the App Store as an update so I loaded it. Well, I think I did.

Has the dock icon turn red?
|
|
Yep, it red. Still doesn't load up.

Hmm. Mine's been trouble free. Delete the com.apple etc prefs file?
|
|
What files do I need to delete and from where?

I'd try
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.plist and nearby files as a start
(You have to hold down the option when using the Go menu to get to the Library)
No quarantees of course, but borked pref is always a good place to start.
If that doesn't work, trash ~/Music/iTunes Music Library.xml (If I remember rightly, you will be prompted to create a new file at launch)
Also, don't forget to use the feedback agent.
|
|
Tried all that except the library.xml. iTunes does not even open any type of window be it set up or anything else.
May have to rebuild and try again.

In the top level Library (as opposed to the user library) there is an iTunes folder that contains plugins. Worth a trash, just to check.

Okay i can now open it but its a bit unconventional and unstable. If i go to Macintosh HD\applications\iTunes and right click it and select Show Package contents, i go to contents then MacOS, I can click iTunes there and the normal interface opens but seems to crash very easily.
Dont know why this should work but it does.
Any ideas?

Well, the short but unhelpful answer is "beta software".
Short of the thing in my previous post (Macintosh HD/Library/iTunes), am a bit stuck

Thanks for the help
