Since the last few updates my IPad Air which is approx 6 months old has lost the facility to copy/ paste, when it does manage before the 8.1 update it continues to copy the same link I copied previously and doesn't overwrite it like previously .
Now it just doesn't work and it's getting annoying and frustrating ,been looking for a fix online but have yet to find one only other discontented other users with the same issue.
Anyone else having problems, and has anybody got a fix .
Cheers

I'm not using commands,I'm just putting my finger on the link and then the options come up which will say select .select all.Copy..
Then I go of to the website in question ,want to copy the link and Zippo.....Nothing.

Have you tried the "go to" things like a hard restart (power and home button held until the Apple appears)?
Might be worth doing a full backup, doing a clean install and then restoring from that backup. It is hard not to suspect that something has got corrupted.
I don't think IOS8 is Apple's finest hour. Have all sorts of wifi issues.

Yeah done all that

iPod touch with same problem. There's a thread on Apple discussions about this.
Two restores didn't fix it.

In which case I'll open myself up to more 'what a fool' type question .......
Using Yosemite and all it entails on me i-mac. With the new all singing and dancing Safari browser, I no longer see the full url across the address bar, hence if I wanted to copy and paste a post off here, I would previously just highlight the full line from the address bar ..... where's it gone ??
|
|
|
where's it gone ?? Safari in Yosemite now only shows a sites domain in the address bar by default. If you go to, say, apple.com/macbook, all youll see in the address bar is apple.com unless you click on it. Getting the full URL back is easy, though. Go to Safari menu > Preferences, then select Advanced from the toolbar, then check the box labelled Show full website address. Sanity will thusly be restored to the situation.
Note- I haven't yet moved to Yosemite, so can't confirm if it works.

You can change that in preferences (under Advanced)

Sorted Thank you very much.

Clever bunnies the pair of you. Thanks again.

When Apple "improve" something they usually (but not always) leave the previous version in there- it's just a matter of finding out how they've hidden it
Hunting through Preferences is usually a good start, then try option-clicking (eg to get the original "Get Info" in iTunes 12), then go Googling

Thanks again.
