The next level of OS X Yosemite Public Beta is available for download here. It is a 1.39GB download.

It also includes Photos for OS X which is the replacement for Aperture.

iPhoto is built into OS X. Aperture is £80. Be interesting if they merge them and make it free.

Photos was introduced in June as an overall replacement for both iPhoto and Aperture, signaling the end of an era for the venerable Apple software.

Apple Insider reports that Aperture users were notified today that the software would soon be removed from the Mac App Store. Apple instead invited everyone to check out Photos, available now as part of Apples OS X 10.10.3 open beta.

Evidently, only customers who initially purchased Aperture from the Store actually received Apples note entitled, Aperture News.

As I purchased Aperture on CD I did not receive the notification. However I did receive notification as a registered beta tester.
