Sync icon on for hours even in airplane mode

Says it all really, i have had the sync icon on most of the day,only stopped when i restarted the phone, but then only for a few hours wifi, mobile and even turning on airplane mode, nothing seems to stop it.

Have you done the "hard reset" thingummy, with the home button down until the Apple logo appears?

Never thought of that, will give it a go when it comes back, as I've just done another restart.

do you have wifi sync enabled?

It even happened with WIFI sync disabled, but hasn't happened since the last restart.
