Apple iPhone 5C - charger

A family member bought an Apple iPhone 5C. The Apple charger/lead supplied failed in one year.
Similar replacements, non-Apple, claimed by suppliers to be better than Apple, also failed within 1 year.
Is there any supplier of this accessory which is worth buying from?

I recognise that I am probably in wrong Forum but would be grateful for further directions.

I have had some degree of success with one purchased from Asda, the brand I don't recall, but it's defining feature is the 'lighting' end of the charger is cranked at 90 degrees, I suspect this makes the bit that most yank the thing out by more robust .....

Mine gets used multiple times daily in my van for work, and still going strong. I'll see if I can find a link in a bit for you.

What is actually failing? I've got Apple lightning leads from when they were first available and I have one lead where some of the shielding is showing but other than that they are all in good working order. Never had one of the power adapters fail.

Been using an Apple Lightning charger with an iPhone since early 2013, still works fine and is in daily use. I always disconnect holding the white plastic rather than pulling on the wire itself.
Never had a problem.

Thanks for the several varied replies. Looks like hit or miss.
As far as we know, from advice from retailer, the failures have so far all been of the cable and its end fittings, not of the equipment such as charger.
There seems to be inadequate Quality control, so it seems prudent to have access to a spare cable.
Particularly for dependent users.

Agree. I've used them and for me they've been reliable and cheaper than either the Apple or Belkin equivalents. Amazon stock a good range of Anker products.
