Some years ago I stored loads of photos on PICASA, which seemed good.
But I found recently that google had taken over and phased out PICASA, hoping all users would transfer to google Photos. Many fine words from google about how easy and safe the transfer would be.
BUT now there are PICASA users who find that all or nearly all their photos have disappeared.

Unwise of them to rey on single source back up, of course.
Now google seem to be pushing "NEW PICASA".

You can download the new PICASA onto your own computer.
Then to save time uploading your photos YOU CAN HIT THE SCAN BUTTON Which then automatically SCANS ALL OF YOUR HARD DRIVE AND COPIES ALL PHOTOS TO google Land.
IN MY VIEW, THAT IS ALMOST AS RISKY AS LETTING THEM INTO YOUR BANK ACCOUNT!
Surely the emphasis on PASSWORDS and other security methods has been to keep the Wolves outside the door, not to invite them in?
I May be worrying needlessly, but I will not be using the google PICASA.
