Mrs.Z has an iPad Pro, all up to date with updates.
She is an avid user of Facebook Marketplace, which she accesses via the Facebook app.
The specific Marketplace part of the app crashes constantly. This doesn’t happen if she uses the app on her iPhone. Nothing else suffers these crashes. If she doesn’t use the marketplace part of the app, it doesn’t crash. She has tried deleting and reinstalling.
I couldn’t find any specific help.
Any ideas ?

There's a thing call hard reboot that's worth a shot - resytart holding the home button down until the apple appears. Will be a longer than usual start-up.
But Facebook's iPad app is not given the attention it needs from FB. It is riddled with bugs (even by FB's standards, which are terrible).

Thank you for the suggestion Ian.
I’ve used a hard reboot on my work iPhone before. Happy to try it with the iPad, except , like later phones, it has no home button ?
OK, tried that .... no joy.
Thank you anyway

Just a suggestion as I've never used an iPad or Facebook Marketplace.
Does the app crash when a different User account logs into Facebook Marketplace on her iPad?

Try shutting off with the power button and BOTH volume buttons, like this: http://www.iphonehacks.com/2018/11/ipad-pro-2018-how...

Not sure ... I’ve not got a Facebook account, but thank you for the suggestion.
I suspect it’s just a shonky app.

Will be attempted later, thank you.

If possible solutions run out you could try clearing all caches on her iPad as there may be some corrupt data cached separately from the app that isn't being deleted when the app is being reinstalled.

Did you delete the app, do a hard reboot, and then re-install the app? That is the recommended procedure.
But, I'm afraid, this seems to be a widespread problem and I can't find any confirmed solution other than "wait for Facebook to fix it".

Facebook have a lot of more important things to fix than this.

Thank you for your suggestions, sadly, none have resolved the issue
It would seem it is an unloved app.

It would seem it is an unloved app. It certainly is that...

Until recently iPhones and iPads both ran the same operating system. Back in September 2019, Apple split the operating system into two separate platforms.
Apps initially designed for both may not have been updated to take into account changes Apple has made to the operating systems since they diverged and it's possible that things which used to run perfectly happily on an iPad may now have reduced functionality or stability.
I was playing with one such app yesterday which works perfectly on an iPhone but has user interface issues (white text on white background) on iPad. I'm sure things will eventually be sorted when app developers catch up.

Interesting, if its the change in iPad OS then it must be widespread and affecting all users of Facebook Marketplace app running that specific version of the iPad OS.

|
|
That sounds very plausible Sarah, thank you.

It could be the app itself is the one that is acting up... maybe the version is not compatible with your device.

A family friend has used MBPro for years now, with mainly good results.
BUT has now bought a new 128GB iPad Pro 12.9-inch (4th Generation) Wi-Fi.
There seem to be many ways of falling into trouble, particularly for a non-expert.
Does anyone know of a publication [ book, magazine etc.] which could help a non-expert use the iPadPro, without being driven nearly up the wall?
All suggestions gratefully received.
DIOGENES.
PS
I wonder why APPLE don't provide a helpful "manual" as a normal item.
We cannot all be a genius?

But if you give specific examples we may be able to give specific help.
