I’m still working on a good acronym for Gru…😅

Truly Despicable ...

An axe is neither right nor wrong, it is just technology. There is no moral dimension to an axe. The moral dimension only arises with the questions of the use it is put to, who controls it and who benefits from it.

Similarly with GPU clustering for AI workloads. So can you expand on your comments in that framework?

Meh when you have to explain a joke it’s no longer funny…

Minions, Gru and Despicable Me? I’m guessing you haven’t got small kids / seen the franchise in the last 15 years. 😅😎

You don't need children to watch Despicable Me. My wife and I noticed DM 4 on Netflix last night so had a chuckle for an hour and a half.

Was Eclipse Home Option 1, VM 2Mb & O2 Standard
Utility Warehouse (up to 16mbps) via Talk Talk, upgraded to fibre 40/10

Yep, you’re in the “/ seen the franchise” group.

Anyway beyond my (clearly bad) jokes, the actual software looks pretty neat and it would be great if Apple could give us a tool like this to cost effectively run AI models on spare GPU cycles on our owned kit, rather than purely relying on the cloud hyper behemoths and their subs.

That is if we could afford the cost of memory and storage nowadays. But that’s a separate argument.
