3 Connect Software slow on XP.

Having had my dongle for about a week now I find that on a couple of XP machines the 3 connect software appears not to respond or respond slowly to mouse clicks. Has anyone else experienced this or know of a fix? Have emailed 3 as yet no response.

3 finally got back to me and told me how to set up a manual connection so I dont need to use the 3connect software, that will do me.

Perhaps you'd like to share how you set up the manual connection to 3 for the others of us who have probs with XP. Thanks.

Sure.

1. Go to connections folder and click make a new connection.
2. Choose "Connect to the internet" in the wizard.
3. Choose "Set up manually"
3. Choose "Dial up modem" make sure the modem drivers are installed and modem plugged in.
4. Enter "3 Broadband" under ISP name.
5. Enter *99# in the phone number box.
6. Leave user name and password blank.
7. Finish
8. Double click 3 Broadband and surf.

There maybe different steps depending upon your connection but that's generally it.

I hope the above helps anyone with problems with the 3 connect software, I have emailed 3 and told them about this bug, when it will be fixed, no idea.

BTW this seems to be fixed now. Dont know what fixed it, if it was a flash update, video driver update or the 3connect s/w updates that fixed it but one of them must have.

install the drivers manually and then use MWconn (www.mwconn.net), freeware lighweight program (about 2mb) to manage your mb connections, it also has sms manager.
