Advice needed on PAYG BB service

I am looking to get a USB dongle to use with my laptop on the few occasions when I'm not in range of suitable Wi-Fi. I don't want a contract as it isn't worth it for the small amount of usage. Equally, many of the PAYG deals I've seen require a top-up to be used within 30 days. I would prefer a much longer time-out of credit. I would also prefer the network not to be T-mobile or Orange as the coverage isn't too good in places I'm likely to use it. I know Vodafone & O2 are OK, no idea about 3 though! I know that's all a bit fussy, but I wonder if anyone could suggest a suitable option that would suit me? Thanks in advance!

I don't believe any of the operators do non-expiring PAYG data anymore.. If you search around on eBay you may be able to find one of the old Vodafone sims that last 12 months..

Time and time again people ask for PAYG for occassional use,
and evry time th answer is the same: The operators do not offer ANY such deals now.

WHY ?

Clearly there is a demand, so money can be made.

Seems to me thay are just lazy sods, they juts want the money to be rolling in by DD !

Actually, I think they are just plain greedy - on the current PAYG data deals, any unused credit expires after 30 days, meaning you are paying a lot for very little if you dont use it all..

O2 do one where you can pay by the day,

Nice one - I see they do the same plan for the iPad, free sim. Just ordered one!!

Late last year I bought two "Three Mobile Broadband 3GB Data SIM" cards via Amazon UK - the data allowance can be used for 90 days from the date you activate it.
The current price is £12.79 from merchant GSM-Fonz but they occasionally appear on special offer as low as £4.
