4G and Usage Allowances

Hearing all this talk marketing talk about big downloads on the move and watching HD TV etc with 4g do I get the impression that EE's packages will actually launch with some proper usage allowances rather than 500 mb and 1Gb for example?

Ideally I would expect the lowest package to come with at least 6-10 GB usage.

Not too keen about them implying you need 4g to make video calls and watch live tv etc when most 3g connections are more than capable of this, but thats marketing for ya. A bit like when DAB came out and promised CD quality sound!


What are your thoughts on this?

Holding judgement until some packages are announced

I use Bell Canada and the package i'm on is 6GB usage allowance. I find on an average month I'll probably use less than 2GB but it's nice to have it there. I'm on LTE btw.

Bell also provide a Mobile TV app and I get 10 hours viewing per month but that data is not counted in the traditional allowance. Bell is helped by the fact that they actually own some of the TV channels here.

Providers in the UK might go a similar direction.

Ni tv provider own their own mobile network.,

talktalk are the closest but they buy capacity of another network.

Looks like my suspicions of hyped up market were correct!
