Thanks for your comments guys, but I have been dongling off and on for many years; first with Vodafone and then with 3 and whilst I hear what you say, when I travel I tend to use an ipad as, after the first time it happened, my macbook was compromised and it took a lot to get it back on track. Second time round I made sure to only connect via ipad No Skype, no updates in the background and minimum data to corrupt. When I loaded the new sim and went online, my data allowance was exceeded within 3-4 minutes max. Whatever is happening with EE, they should investigate and not ignore the problem. Also, I found a second person who had a similar problem. Too much of a coincidence I think.

I've just googled the HUAWEI E5332 and it turns out it's a MiFi rather than a dongle

I presume you've changed/set a SECURE wireless password on it?

If it's set to open/unencrypted than anyone could connect to it.

I'd also suggest changing it from the factory default security as that could have been cracked if they're easy to guess.

Thanks, but Yes, it was passworded. I will be returning this product for a refund now as my experience of EE has not been a pleasant one and I doubt I will return to them simply because of my current experience. It seems once you have purchased the product, they really do not want to know. I say this as I went into one or two shops and the people I spoke to didn't have a clue. They asked me to go to another shop to get it sorted. Pretty incompetent really, or they couldn't be bothered!
