Hi Guys!
I've just moved into a flat in Cardiff near the centre. I went to the shop and pulled out my phone to see the time and was Suprised to see the 4G symbol on my galaxy S4.
So, like any hardcore mobile user i did a speedtest..
My first thought? Holy [censored]!

You are so lucky, I'm near City of London area at the moment with an unlocked Blackberry Q5 and still getting 3g using my one plan sim-only. Vodafone and O2 4g works well in the area on these handsets, but adds to the cost unlike 3.

That's super fast. If you go to: http://www.three.co.uk/Support/Coverage and enter your post code and then click on the 4G + sign, it will show you the date, when the 4G service will be available in your area.
4G.

Very good service.
4G is available in this postcode for Three customers from March 2014.

I am not sure if it's because I unlocked my phone to go with ee but I'm on it now. I've been hitting 60mbps + all day.
I can see the tone it's busy but no slow down. It's the same than ee offer on their double speed tariff
I won't abuse it but when I have downloaded it's been good. Three say everyone will have access between Ian and March they mean when you hit a 4g area.
I went to the link and it says from march 2014 but I'm on it now

Wow, that's crazy. Not quite sure what I'd do with it though; probably just look at the big numbers. 
There doesn't seem to be a date for here in Portsmouth other than 2014 from what I've read on other sites. I usually see 0.8-3mb/s on 3G here although I have hit 20mb/s in less congested areas.

I will edit this when I get home but I've hit 62 earlier. It is a nice touch for 3 I used to get 8-13 at home and was using it as my landmine and was planning to again. With these speeds i defo will! I use the net more than I use anything else so now it's better value

Just wait until everyone is on it. EE's speed have slowed down as more and more people are using it .

The tester seems to do a pretty good job, only negative is the share page not being mobile friendly.

Done a few tests which vary between 20-30Mb down though can't do too many as I'm on the 1GB MBB tariff and each test seems to use 30MB!

Three are stopping there one plan with unlimited tethering from march 4th.
it will only have 2gb data allowance.
so 4g is about as much use as a chocolate mug.
I think the sharp price increase recently and now the change of terms is down to the deal they did with EE. to share masts.
with a 2gb data limit you could use it up in about 4 mins.!
I refuse to paid a penny to these greedy phone companys and I use Ovivo. now gives 250mins,300txts 500mbdata.
They only way to get these mobile phone company to offer a useful 4g service is to leave them!

Some Sim cards might not be provisioned yet, I'm currently in a 4G area according to the coverage checker and I have a 4G enabled phone but I'm only getting HSPA.
Called 3 and they said their backoffice teams are still in the process of enabling 4G service on everyones account and said it should be completed sometime in March.

I believe from others in this thread it is still unlimited for the phone data but limited to 2GB for the tethering. This will be to ensure people aren't using their phones as home broadband solutions as 3 sell other plans for this purpose and tethering is likely considered a value add.

I've just got back from the US for a couple of weeks and was pleased to see that my one plan sim now has 4G active on it.
However, looks like serious congestion is already happening in central london (I live in Islington). Finding I'm getting vastly better speeds upstream than downstream (and in some cases, better speeds downstream on 3G than 4G).
Hopefully as they switch more cells on to spread the load a bit it'll improve. The upstream is seriously impressive though.
TBH - I don't really need faster than (DC-HSPA+) 3G anyway, so i'ts not the end of the world.

I was in islington last weekend and got 15-20 consistency. If I forced it to 3G it was very slow so at least it's a massive improvement

So without much warning, 4G suddenly appeared in Portsmouth while I was away for the Easter break (uni student) in one area around the main University. Despite the uni being quiet, the speeds weren't blistering in a good signal area: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/a/804355472
Once inside the uni, my phone dropped to 3G again. Admittedly, it's a big building but it's well within their indoor coverage area. And *cough* I get 110mbps over wifi there anyway *cough*

Technically in their 4G in/outdoor coverage area but my phone stuck to 3G.

Hey - earlier today in Exeter I noticed my phone seemed to be on 4G.
Did some speed tests though and no change - around 4-5mbs downstream (although one of the tests had 20mbs upstream but that was just one of 4 tests I ran).
The signals gone now - but maybe a sign that they're testing it around here now?

Sounds like they were testing.
Thing is lots of people will do a few speed tests when they see 4G pop up for the first time ... probably slow due to all the tests being done by everyone.

We'll i was back in Exeter City centre this morning and noticed I was back on 4G so did a further test.
This time, 17.8Mbps downstream and 13.5Mbps upstream.
That's better than my home broadband. Unfortunately I seem to be living just outside of the 4g testing area in Exeter as I don't get it here even though I'm about 5 mins walk from the city centre.
