4G in aberdeen

Just started to get signal on tesco(o2)

using galaxy ace 3LTE (never get this phone garbage really)

Use http://labs.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest on your phone and give a postcode and will appear on http://maps.thinkbroadband.com if the ISP detection matches up

I have noticed a lot of the Voda / O2 sites in Aberdeen getting work done to them this last few weeks, about time too!

I had 4G on Three in Aberdeen for a while but recently switched to EE.

No one can touch EE for speed and coverage in Aberdeen. Only downside is that they don't offer unlimited and 20GB per month is tight for me.

I have seen 60mbps down and 25 up in Aberdeen, near Pittodrie. But i assume there is loads of backhaul to the masts on the South Stand due tot he density of the flats nearby and the amount of people there on match days

I average about 25mbps each way, living in the city centre. Working at the airport, when it's less busy I can pull 40mbps consistently

Just done a speed test at work (aberdeen airport) and got this result

Which I think is impressive, if I was EE if be rolling out fixed LTE for home users, this speed with no line rental? It would be excellent

Nice but i think the small usage cap would put people off.

Interesting. No 4G showing on the O2 coverage checker yet.

It's odd, but not surprising.

This (rather impressive) speedtest was done indoors, just between Ellon and Tippertay on EE

EE website lists spotty 3G coverage in this area, but in actual fact it's fantastic 4G.

I think they all like to have a network live and running for a while before publishing
