EE/BT trials - [email protected] anyone else on it?

[link to this post]

Dear xxxxx

You may have heard the news that BT has signed a contract with EE. We are looking for people to get involved in an exciting new trial for our mobile service, which starts over the coming months.

We have strict criteria on who we can include in this trial, so we have put together a survey that will help us to find out more about you as a potential Trialist.

If this is a something that you may be interested in trialling, please use the link at the very bottom of this email to complete the recruitment survey as soon as possible.

We appreciate we have not told you very much about this trial but once you have completed the survey and we have identified you as a participant we will communicate with you further to provide additional details.

Note that the approach for this trial is different to our usual ones. Therefore, please read the following carefully as it outlines some important points regarding participation.

will be interesting what kind of data they give laugh

hoping for some amazing 100GB per month allowance with tethering included for say £20-25p/m

Not received anything yet, wonder what the criteria is to be on the hitlist to get an invite? I would not expect them to be that generous with the data allowance especially if it is tetherable.

It is also remotely possible that this is a scam email on the back of the news items about it. Would be interested if it really is going to a BT website and what sort of data it is collecting - done right you could get all sorts of personal data and use it for identity theft.

If I had got that email that would have been my first thought.

It is more than likely a real email - I have got the same Email for a trial although I am an employee. The email address is a valid one

But does it link to a website to fill in a form - and if so what personal data does that form ask for?

Got this too, can't say I'll be trying it though as in my experience EE has been poor quality here (network, never dealt with customer services/support directly but from what I've been told it's not brilliant). Good luck to anyone who does try it though, will be interested to see how this goes.

Not a scam logged into my BT trials account to apply for it.

The EE network is very good around here (Aberdeen) so looking forward to trying it.

This is real I'm on the trial recieved my BT sim couple weeks ago. Working pretty well at the moment although had emails to say they're having issues with activation and number porting at the moment. Speeds are quick but like above it is using the EE network. As a trialist your given 500 minutes 1gb of data, 1000 texts and unlimited wifi but they're encouraging you to use more (everything even over spend is free) and looking for people who travel abroad a lot to take part in the trial.

No mention of tethering on the trial and haven't used tethering yet to see if it's allowed.

Surely you only receive this email if you've signed up to BT trials?
