New 4G signal, more capacity?

EE have promised a 4G signal 'very soon'. The existing 3G signal appears to be overloaded as during the busy times the signal footprint shrinks and those of us furthest from the transmitter are unable to make a connection.
Will the provision of 4G mean that there is additional capacity? Or does the existing 3G signal simply become faster?

to make it simple once 4G comes 3G should return to normal

phone text and data should be more reliable again and the power the 3G should no longer be reduced but that is not guaranteed if the range will go back to normal

3G is 3G and 4G is 4G

its a new technology with its own radio bandwidth, when 4G comes into your area 3G will get less congestion (around here 3G is faster then 4G (in 4G areas) as most people's phones on 3 have now automatically using 4G now, 4G is still fast thought) if your 3G masts in your area is very high congested 4G will restore usable data (and calls and text) on 3G and 4G will take most of the load for data

as people's phones will start to use 4G automatically where available so most of their data will end up on 4G, as 4G has 50-150mb+ of capacity per cell on the mast vs 21/42mb on 3g (depends on type of 3G and 4G technology setup used and phone support)

4G provision means the mast will get more bandwidth (probably gigabit or more) where it may only have 100megabit so far; but generally its the radio side that shows the congestion.

4G will mean more frequencies available so the phones, cellular tablets, wifi boxes etc, will prefer 4G, which free's up space on the 3G signals.

That's an effect of the Three network and how much spectrum they bought at the 4G auction. Shouldn't happen on EE or Vodafone - could be seen on O2.
