4 mimo / 2 antenna ports

I'm looking at an external antenna for by B612 modem and realised that whilst I've paid extra for a 4 mimo unit if I'm using the two external antenna ports it's only going to be using 2 x mimo.

Are there any workarounds to this apart from drilling the thing and modifying it's internals?
