Three's 4G Ping has improved significantly

[link to this post]

Just noticed today I'm getting 95MS to OVH BHS (There Canada DC) instead of the unstable 115-150ms.
On average I'm getting 23ms over 4g to Cloudflare instead of 38-54ms on average.

A ping to a three server shows I'm getting 15-17ms on average.

In reply to a post by Jake4:

Could be for various reasons:

1) Its a sunny day, other people on the network using cell sites in your area have gone for a day trip
2) Three's upgrades for 5G and their 4G network rebuild have reached your area
3) The internet is generally quiet smile

The wonderful thing about radio networks is the number of users varies a lot.

It's none of the above (Not in London so not 5g related),
I've been using 4g for a home connection for 5+ months and It's never been this low.

The fact youíre not in London is irrelevant.

A ping change is going to be due to CORE network changes.

Most likely due to load or investment for 5G.

Itís probable that heís been moved over from the old Samsung core to the new Nokia core. Three are ramping up the switch this month.

Rebooted the router a couple of days ago and now the ping is back to the unreliable 30-40ms+, strange.
