B618 on Vodafone - Intermittant CA

[link to this post]

Hi,

Been looking into replacing my landline based connection with a 4g router due to the speeds I can reach on my mobile phone, especially with unlimited packages making a comeback. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

I'm within sight of my local mast and my phone (LG V30+) and new B618s-22d am able to hit 100-220mbps which is faster than my FTTC line.

Problem is that I seem able to achieve those speeds fairly consistantly on my phone but the B618 seems to regularly not make use of the carrier aggregation in my area. If I give it a reboot, it will probably work for an evening or two and then drop back down to half the speed of my phone despite being in a better location in the house most of the time.

I can't really tell if the B618 is making use of CA from the interface but speedtests usually are a good indication.

Anyone got any ideas?

Signal stats from B618
RSRQ: -4dB
RSRP: -77dBm
SINR: 24dB
