4G EE - Do they shape traffic on the 4GEE packages?

Has anyone noticed EE limiting speeds at all on their 4GEE plans?

I've just noticed that if I do speedtests here or just download 1gb test files online, I only get about 10mb/s

but, if I connect to nordvpn to a uk server and run the same tests I get ~90mb/s?

I've rebooted the router several times (Mikrotik UHG LTE6, and I've tried with CA enabled (band 3+20) and disabled (individually B3/20), this made no difference (although pings are terrible but that's another matter that mikrotik are already looking into).

Have you asked EE if there is congestion in your area?

I did ask them on livechat and they say they didn't restrict but there have been issues in my area for a few weeks but doesn't' explain why it's only non vpn traffic being affected.

Downloading Call of Duty update now at 10MB/s solid over vpn when i tried with no VPN i was getting 500k/s

I've never noticed any throttling, however.

My Speed test right now it hovering at about 10Mbps, so i've lost 30 or 40 Mbps since i last checked yesterday.

it's never been this slow since we went 4G with EE last year

I've been playing with VPN after noticing much slower throughput during Game patching recently, And today for example i see circa 20x the transfer speed via the VPN than without.

Tried a few different country locations, and even with the VPN set to UK was getting about 12 x the speed than without.

Somethings up with the EE network somewhere, either deliberate or down to poor peer connections.
