EE South West Wales

[link to this post]

Hi has anyone having issues with continuity with EE 4G in South Wales.
I am told it is capacity issues by the service provider.
EE tell me the cell site has loads of capacity which is located @ SA71 5DQ
Other people in the village have the same issues.

Do you mean you are not with EE, but with a small provider that resells EE? If so, which?

Are you indoors? What type of device are you connecting to the 4G network with?

That post code centres on an EE mast that is transmitting both Band 20 (800 Mhz) as well as Band 3 (1800 Mhz). If you happen to ONLY be picking up the Band 20 signal, then you will likely have slow speeds, 2 to 5 Mbps not unlikely.

If you used to pick up the Band 3 and something has changed in the radio environment. Perhaps trees with leaves on full of water between you and the mast, or Christmas lights are now up, or something in windows, then this MIGHT be a reason.

Guessing without more information.

As Bob asks if you are with a reseller (e.g. ASDA, Lebara or many others) whom use the EE signal, then that may be a contributing factor.

Hi Roberto, I have an EE Sim but pay Havern Wireless.

From checking out that website it appears Havern did the original installation to get you good signal (and I assume you have the outside antenna?).

My previous comments still apply, but it could be as simple as more people using the network in your area.

The FAQ says your ongoing service is direct with EE and not with Havern

Any local issues reported? My cell site has been reported a few times this year and coincided with issues.

As a side note they also work with Vodafone and o2, can they look into switching you if the speeds are unusable? Vodafone is £40 unlimited on their site, EE looks more costly for data limited options.

Given the remote location, I would assume the network chosen is that that a) works and b) is normally usable.

That part of South West Wales is fairly remote!
