No access on WLAN but LAN is fine!

My laptop can't access my desktop via wireless but it can using ethernet. This is a really strange problem! I can view the directories if i go to work group computers and select my desktop but i can not view files or open folder.

Anyone know what's going on?

Is the WLAN isolation mode turned on (if your router has such a feature)?
Perhaps an Offline Files problem?

sounds like a sharing and permissions issue, have you setup the sharing on the host computer? you will need to setup sharing and allow others to change files in the directory you are viewing in order to crete and move files to and from that directory. If you mean you cant use remote desktop to take control of the target machine that will also need enabling from the properties item after right clicking on my computer then select remote tab then allow users to connect remotely to my computer, make sure that the target machine has a fixed ip address and then using using remote desktop connection from the source machine connect to the target machine on your network.

That sounds possible as a computer on the ethernet can access the files on my desktop but on the wireless i can't.

May I ask what router you have?

SO does any one know how to turn off WLAN isolation?

Well my work laptop works fine and can access folders and stream audio and video from my PC's HDD so maybe it isn't an LAN/WLAN isolation problem. Then again I can't print any more and as it happens the printer is connected wirelessly however laptops also connected wirelessly can print.

God damn it PC's and networks are so annoying!
