[link to this post]

I'm looking for a wireless relay station that doesn't require the base station to be configured in WDS, could anyone please recommend some?

much appreciated

The central access point doesn't usually need to be configured for WDS, it just needs to support the make/model of wireless repeater used.

To setup a wireless repeater you need to switch it from access point mode to repeating mode, enter the central access point's MAC address in it's configuration panel and of course set the exact same security configuration.

If it is feasible to run a cable between the two access points you can always use roaming, which gives greater speed than wireless repeating.

Kind Regards

Malte
