My config:
. WinXP + SP2
. BT line
. AOL 9.0 (Platinum 2MB)
. Thompson 576 Wireless Router on main socket + Thompson filter
. BT 1040 PCI WI-FI card
The internet is OK (still haven't been updgraded to 8MB yet!), but I noticed I am getting these errors when I log into my router:
Modulation: G.992.1 Annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 448 / 7.616
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [MB/GB]: 81,02 / 1,22
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 11,5 / 19,5
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 19,0 / 29,5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 21,0 / 10,0
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote): 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 38 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 527.561
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 499
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 47
The router was switched off recently so the FEC errors are lower (it was in the millions).
Just like to add that the router is on the master socket, and the BT end of the filter connects to a cordless phone base (with receiver unit at other end of room), as well as a SKY TV system who's phone cabling goes external then back into the house at the other side. So the BT line is shared between two devices on the same filter.
So I was wondering..is this serious? What are these errors related to, and will they affect my broadband speed? Should I move my router or get a better filter?
Thank you, I appreciate any help.
