wireless modem/router help

[link to this post]

Hi all,
I just bought a US Robotics Adsl2+ Wireless Modem Router : http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/122152 and i'm having no luck whatsoever getting it to work.
I'm using a toshiba satellite laptop, my isp is tiscali and up to now have been using a usb modem.
I can get the adsl signal from the phone line to the router and the network light is fully lit but my laptop wont connect to 192.168.2.1 using the ethernet cable to set it up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Becky

Are you sure it's 192.168.2.1 not 192.168.1.1?

If so try

Start -> My Network Places -> View Network Connections -> Local Area Connection -> Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) -> Properties and make sure the obtain address automatically boxes are selected.

"Simple 1-2-3 installation will have you up and sharing your Internet connection in minutes"

Open Internet Explorer, click on Tools-->Internet Options-->Connections-->Setup-->Next-->Connect To The Internet-->Set Up My Connection Manually-->Connect Using A Broadband Connection That Is Always On-->Next-->Finish.
Close IE and disable any software firewall or other security software that may interfere with connectivity.
If you're certain that your NIC is enabled and that the host address is 192.168.2.1, click here.
