F5D7633-4Av1_UK_1.00.17 Connection issues

[link to this post]

I have just purchased this as a replacement for a BT Home hub which was driving me mad, unfortunately this doesn't seem any better. Not only am I having to constantly change the channel because for some reason, what works on one of the wireless pc's we have doesn't work with the other. I am now finding that the main connection which is an ethernet connection, constantly drops.

The annoying this is that I had this working sweet as a nut with an old Zoom Modem and a Belkin Router, same set up, never dropped an internet connection and always supplied wireless upstairs.

If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them
My ISP is BT
OS is Vista 32bit

Thanks

Paul

Take it back and exchange it for something that actually works. The Belkin FD....UK series is extremely unreliable.

I have had the belkin FD7633 for some time, as do of my colleagues and none of them have reported any problems, apart from ones caused by BT due to line faults etc.. I personally think the router is sound.

Kinda reinforces my view that the HH gets an undeserved bad press. No the first time that I have heard of a HH being replaced and it's "fault" remaining.

The half a dozen or so units the I have had occasion to replace were most definitely faulty and if you search these and other forums you'll find that faults with this series are not uncommon.
As the faults I have experienced were somewhat variable, it suggests that quality control is not what it should be at Belkin.

I meant the BT Home Hub made by Thomson not the Belkin of which I have no experience.
